Germany's BMFSFJ Doubles Youth Scholarship Funds, Boosting Recipients to 3,000

The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) in Germany has expanded its Youth Initiative Center, doubling youth promotion funds. This has led to an increase in scholarship recipients from 1,000 to 3,000, with the scholarship amount now standing at 10,000 rubles. Notably, applications can now be submitted remotely.

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship have been widened to include students from secondary and higher education institutions aged 14 to 35. This has resulted in over 5,000 Kuban students applying for the scholarship.

Kuban State University leads the pack in the number of scholarship recipients, with Kuban State Agrarian University closely behind, supporting 176 students. Among the recipients are Dmitry Timoshenko, a fourth-year student who has won and been a prize-winner in national competitions, and Elmira Shemet, a fourth-year biology student recognised for her academic performance and activism. The scholarship amount has been doubled to 10,000 rubles to better support these talented young people.

The increased funding and remote application process have led to a significant rise in scholarship recipients and applicants. The BMFSFJ's initiative is expected to continue supporting and encouraging talented youth across various educational institutions.
