Gelsenkirchen’s New School Redefines Learning with Self-Directed Education
Gelsenkirchen's new comprehensive school, the Gesamtschule Europastraße, is set to open its doors to the public this Saturday. The school, which will welcome its first students next year, aims to provide a unique learning experience with a focus on self-directed learning and personalised support.
The school will initially offer four classes and employ a team of ten dedicated teachers, including Sandra Rensch and Jens Fasel. Sandra, drawing from her own experiences, is eager to help students succeed by allowing them to explore material at their own pace. Jens, with his background in developing school concepts for the Münster District Government, will bring valuable insights to the team.
The school will operate as an all-day institution, providing ample time for personalised support and growth. It will also introduce an innovative learning model, giving students access to an in-house app for learning materials. This approach aligns with the school's focus on self-directed learning, where each child progresses at their own speed.
The first Open House will take place this Saturday, offering a chance for many children and their parents to explore the new school and its unique learning approach. The school's team is excited to welcome the community and looks forward to starting its first classes next year.
