Gazipur Agricultural University welcomes new MS and PhD scholars for autumn 2025
Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) recently hosted an orientation programme for the autumn 2025 session's newly admitted MS and PhD students. The event, presided over by Professor Mohammad Sharif Raihan, director of GAU Student Welfare, welcomed 66 MS and 10 PhD students from 13 renowned universities across the country. The programme was graced by the presence of Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, the university's vice-chancellor, as the chief guest.
The vice-chancellor, Professor Mustafizur Rahman, emphasized the holistic approach of GAU's education. He stated, 'True education is not only about learning; it is the cultivation of character, intellect, and humanity.'
Registrar Md Abdullah Mridha introduced the university's academic traditions and research prospects, giving students a glimpse into GAU's academic landscape. Professor Mohammad Saiful Alam, proctor, guided the students on discipline, responsibility, and ethical values, setting the tone for their academic journey.
Dean of the faculty of graduate studies, Professor Md Ramiz Uddin Miah, outlined the structure and policies of higher studies and research at GAU. He provided insights into the university's expectations and support for its postgraduate students.
The orientation programme also saw the attendance of special guests, Professor M Moynul Haque and Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad. Professor Mohammad Nazmol Hasan, provost of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall, briefed the students on residential and administrative regulations, ensuring a smooth transition into university life.
