Gateway College’s nursing program faces pivotal accreditation review by ACEN

Gateway Community & Technical College is preparing for a key step in its nursing programme. The school is seeking initial accreditation for its Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). A site visit by the ACEN team will soon take place to review the programme’s standards.

The ACEN site-visit team will assess Gateway’s ADN programme as part of the accreditation process. Their evaluation will determine whether the college meets the required educational and professional benchmarks.

The public will have a chance to share feedback on the programme. An in-person meeting with the site-visit team is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Gateway Edgewood campus. Those unable to attend can still submit written comments directly to ACEN via email or post. The accreditation decision will follow the team’s review and public input. If successful, the ADN programme will gain formal recognition from ACEN, confirming its quality and compliance with industry standards.

The upcoming site visit marks a critical phase for Gateway’s nursing programme. Public comments and the ACEN team’s findings will shape the final accreditation outcome. The college awaits the results of this evaluation process.
