Freiburg's career fairs attract 16,600 young job seekers in 2024
Two major career fairs in Freiburg have drawn over 16,600 young visitors this year. The Job-Start Fair and the Health & Care Jobs Expo provided opportunities to explore education, training, and employment. Both events were organised by Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM).
The Job-Start Fair featured 204 exhibitors, including regional employers, vocational schools, and dual-study providers. A new section, 'Paths After High School', showcased 28 vocational and degree options, with strong interest in IT, healthcare, and sustainable engineering.
The Health & Care Jobs Expo hosted 29 exhibitors, such as hospitals, nursing facilities, and training institutions. The event operated under the patronage of the Southern Upper Rhine Skills Alliance.
Visitors also attended the 'Career Cinema', where short films highlighted vocational training and daily work routines. Meanwhile, an expert advice hub offered guidance on career choices, attracting steady crowds.
Both fairs received backing from local business partners, trade associations, and labour agencies. Organisers have already set the next dates for February 17–18, 2027, at Messe Freiburg.
The combined events connected thousands of young people with employers, training providers, and career advisors. The next editions will return in 2027, continuing to support school leavers and job seekers in the region.
