Free 'Engineering School' Launches in Novouralsk for Grades 8-11
A new initiative, the 'Engineering School' project, has launched at the Novouralsk branch of MEPhI for students in grades 8-11. The project, which focuses on various engineering fields, is free and fully funded by a grant from JSC 'Ural Electrochemical Plant' (UEIP).
The project, led by institute faculty and UEIP employees, offers four specialized tracks: IT engineering, power engineering, automation and control engineering, and design engineering. Students will explore these fields, develop programming and 3D modeling skills, and prepare for the Unified State Exam (USE) and the General Education Exam (OGE) in physics.
Classes are held three times a week at the Novouralsk Technology Institute, using modern equipment. By the end of the academic year, students are expected to choose one track for in-depth study and receive a certificate upon completion. The project has generated significant interest, with all spots filled within 30 minutes of registration opening and a waitlist remaining.
The 'Engineering School' project is a collaborative effort between the Novouralsk branch of MEPhI and the engineering school 'Lyceum № 55'. Students who earn the certificate may be eligible for bonus points towards admission to the Novouralsk Technology Institute. The project aims to inspire and prepare students for careers in engineering.
