Former NFL Hopeful Kyren Lacy Dies By Suicide Before Grand Jury Hearing
Former NFL hopeful Kyren Lacy has passed away by suicide, days before facing a grand jury over a fatal crash that occurred on Dec. 17, 2024. Lacy was arrested for negligent homicide, felony hit and run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. The crash resulted in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall. Police released video evidence showing Lacy's reckless driving leading up to the crash. Surveillance footage revealed him illegally passing multiple vehicles at high speed in a no-passing zone. His actions triggered a chain reaction that ultimately caused the fatal collision. Lacy was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger at the time. Following the crash, Lacy failed to stop and instead called a lawyer within 10 minutes. The Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus and the Louisiana Democratic Party have since called for investigations into the handling of the case. As of now, there's no official statement from Herman Hall's family regarding the events before the accident. Lacy's negligent actions led to the tragic death of Herman Hall.
