Forest Kita Celebration: Solingen Marks Richtfest for New Facility

In the heart of Solingen city, a significant development is underway. The "Green" residential project, located in Wald, is set to revolutionise the local landscape with its modern architecture and sustainable energy concepts.

Philipp Köster, project developer and Kondor Wessels' authorized officer, has announced that the kindergarten at the heart of this development, named "Pinocchio 4," is being built in a record six weeks. Upon completion, the precursor groups from Elsa-Brandström Street in Solingen city centre will move to their new home.

The "Green" project, spanning a plot area of approximately 12,860 square meters and a gross floor area of around 20,600 square meters, consists of 167 residential units. Of these, 81 are planned as owner-occupied apartments, offering a total living area of approximately 14,361 square meters.

The kindergarten, located on Wiedenkamper Street, will accommodate four groups and offer approximately 72 childcare places. The two-story structure, covering approximately 725 square meters, will have a long-term lease agreement of 25 years, extendable twice by five years each. The kindergarten will also have five parking spaces.

The "Green" quarter offers 167 parking spaces in the underground garage, ensuring ample parking for residents. The sale of the apartments began in 2022, with the completion of the entire project scheduled for the year 2025.

The "Green" project incorporates a sustainable energy concept, including geothermal energy, air/water heat pumps, and photovoltaic systems. This eco-friendly approach is a testament to Solingen's commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

With the new kindergarten in Wald, Solingen may see a relief from its current tense childcare situation. There are still around 900 kindergarten places missing, and the arrival of the "Pinocchio 4" kindergarten is expected to help alleviate this shortage.

As we look forward to the completion of the "Green" quarter, it's clear that this development is more than just a residential project; it's a step towards a greener, more sustainable future for Solingen.
