Food prices swing in Trans-Baikal as eggs and tomatoes surge in late October
Food prices in the Trans-Baikal region fluctuated between 21 and 27 October. Some staples became more expensive, while others saw significant drops. The latest data reveals both increases and decreases across key grocery items.
Eggs experienced the sharpest rise, climbing by 3.8%. Tomatoes followed with a 2.6% increase, while cucumbers went up by 2%.
The changes reflect mixed trends in local food costs. While some essentials like eggs and tomatoes have risen in price, others—particularly cabbage and potatoes—have become more affordable. The shifts are based on data recorded over a single week in late October.
