Explore Art Psychotherapy in Kochi: Free Session on October 19
Kochi is set to host a unique event on October 19, as Aswathy Krishnakumar, a counselling psychologist and art psychotherapist, leads a free session at the regional office of the Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI). Representing The Art of Living, Aswathy will introduce participants to the healing power of art psychotherapy, a process that complements conventional therapy. Art psychotherapy, open to all regardless of artistic skill, allows participants to explore their emotions through art. Aswathy, who holds a Master's degree from the University of Chester in the UK, has adapted her learning to suit Indian and Malayali contexts, using accessible outdoor materials for nature art therapy, making it inclusive and engaging. Aswathy believes that verbal expression isn't always necessary, encouraging participants to start creating, focusing on the process rather than the final product. Her dream project, Oridam, is a space dedicated to emotional processing through various art forms. This session in Kochi is the first in a series planned across Kerala to promote emotional intelligence and emotional expression through art. Join Aswathy Krishnakumar on October 19 to explore art psychotherapy and use art as a tool for healing and emotional expression. No artistic skills are required, just an open mind and a willingness to explore.
