Canada Strong Pass Expands Access to Summer Attractions Across the Country

The Canada Strong Pass, a programme offering discounted rates for summer attractions, has grown significantly, with numerous provincial and territorial museums and galleries now participating.

On July 17, a list of 86 additional institutions was announced, spanning various locations across Canada. Among the new additions are the Western Development Museum locations in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon, and Yorkton in Saskatchewan.

In Ontario, popular attractions such as Fulford Place (Brockville), the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History (Dresden), the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Kleinburg), St Lawrence Parks Commission (various locations), Royal Botanical Gardens (Burlington and Hamilton), Old Fort Erie (Fort Erie), Laura Secord Homestead (Niagara on the Lake), Mackenzie Printery (Niagara on the Lake), McFarland House (Niagara on the Lake), Sainte-Marie among the Huron (Midland), Discovery Harbour (Penetanguishene), and Fort William Historical Park (Thunder Bay) have all joined the programme.

Moving eastward, The Rooms (St. John's) in Newfoundland and Labrador, along with several other provincial institutions, have been added to the Canada Strong Pass. These include the Provincial Seamen's Museum (Grand Bank), Demasduit Regional Museum (Grand Falls-Windsor), Labrador Interpretation Centre (North West River), Colonial Building (St. John's), The Commissariat (St. John's), Newman Wine Vaults (St. John's), Cupids Cove Plantation (Cupids), Heart's Content Cable Station (Heart's Content), Trinity Sites (Trinity Interpretation Centre, Hiscock House, Mercantile Premises) (Trinity), Beothuk Interpretation Centre (Boyd's Cove), Cape Bonavista Lighthouse (Bonavista), Mockbeggar Plantation (Bonavista), and more.

The Canada Strong Pass also includes numerous attractions in Nova Scotia, such as the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Halifax), Baile nan Gàidheal, Highland Village (Iona), Balmoral Grist Mill (Balmoral Mills), Barrington Woolen Mill (Barrington Passage), Black Loyalist Heritage Centre (Birchtown), Clifton Museum Park (Windsor), Cossit House Museum (Sydney), and many more.

The Pass is valid for attractions until September 2, 2025. Children aged 17 and under can enjoy free admission, and youth aged 18-24 receive a 50% discount. The benefits offered by the Canada Strong Pass can be enjoyed by simply showing up at participating establishments.

It's important to note that the Pass is available to all guests, including international travellers, regardless of immigration status. No registration or physical pass is required to use the Canada Strong Pass.

The programme initially became effective on June 20 and applies to all federal museums and galleries. New additions in British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Yukon have also been announced. However, as of July 17, no specific information about additional museums or galleries added on that date could be found.

The Canada Strong Pass is not exclusive to Canadian citizens or residents. The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre (Whitehorse) in Yukon has also been added to the programme.

This expansion of the Canada Strong Pass aims to make cultural experiences more accessible and affordable for Canadians and visitors alike this summer.
