Euskirchen's Marienschule Unveils Berlin Wall Segments to Spark Dialogue

Euskirchen's Marienschule has installed two segments of the Berlin Wall in its nature garden, thanks to generous donations. The Bethe Foundation led the way with a 3000 euro contribution, while the civic foundation 'We for you' added 500 euros. The project was realised without cost to the school's support association.

The wall pieces were purchased, transported, and assembled through donations and supporter funding. The Bethe Foundation was the largest donor, contributing 3000 euros. Mayor Sacha Reichelt sees the wall as a symbol to inspire efforts to break down mental barriers between East and West Germans. School principal Michael Mombaur hopes the installation will stimulate thought and exchange among students.

The Berlin Wall segments at Marienschule's nature garden serve as a reminder of Germany's past and a catalyst for dialogue among students. The project was made possible by the Bethe Foundation's 3000 euro donation and the civic foundation 'We for you's 500 euro contribution.
