Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation Offers Financial Aid to Neuss Artists

In a bid to support cultural creators affected by the economic hardships caused by cancelled or postponed events due to strict regulations, the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation has made €50,000 available immediately until 30.09.20, with the potential for an additional €20,000 if necessary.

The financial support, a one-time offering of up to €2,000 per person, is open to full-time cultural creators who reside in Neuss or are primarily active there. This initiative is a small but sincere gesture of gratitude, as stated by Dr. Christiane Zangs, cultural commissioner of the city of Neuss, who emphasised the significant role artists play in enriching our lives in many ways.

Michael Schmuck, Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Neuss and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Fund, reiterated the commitment of Sparkasse Neuss to stand by its community, especially in challenging times. He further added that the foundation is doing everything in its power to keep the economic consequences of the pandemic for people, businesses, and associations/institutions in their region as low as possible.

The application for immediate aid can be found on the homepage of Sparkasse Neuss from Monday, 18.05.2020 (www.sparkasse-neuss.de). It is important to note that this financial support is not a part of the relief measures initiated by Sparkasse Neuss, but a separate initiative by the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation.

For those interested in staying updated on social developments, culinary arts, art, and culture in Neuss, a free newsletter subscription is available. The newsletter, however, does not focus on the economic consequences of the pandemic for people, businesses, and associations/institutions in Neuss. Instead, it provides in-depth information beyond the financial support provided by the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation.

Subscribing to the newsletter requires confirmation in the inbox or spam folder. It is also important to note that the newsletter subscription does not involve spam.

The International Dance Weeks in Neuss, an annual event from October to March, are expected to take place this year. As a significant cultural event enriching the city of Neuss, the International Dance Weeks in Neuss are primarily active in Neuss, but are not mentioned in the financial support provided by the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation.

The Board of Trustees of the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Foundation reacted quickly to this situation, with Mayor Reiner Breuer, chairman of the board of trustees of the anniversary foundation, initiating the support. Michael Schmuck, Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Neuss and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sparkasse Neuss Anniversary Fund, emphasised the foundation's commitment to supporting the community in difficult times.
