Estonia's Human Development Report to be revealed by top academics this Thursday

Estonia's latest Human Development Report will be unveiled at a press conference this Thursday. The event, scheduled for 1:30 PM, brings together four leading academics from the University of Tartu. Their findings will be shared live on ERR's online portal.

The report's editorial team includes Eneli Kindsiko, an Associate Professor of Qualitative Research and Professor of Urban and Population Geography. Tiit Tammaru, also a Professor of Urban and Population Geography, oversaw the chapter titled Education as a Social Elevator. Mihkel Solvak, an Associate Professor of Technology Studies, and Mario Truu, a judge at Tartu District Court and Junior Lecturer in Criminal Law, complete the group.

While specific details of the report remain undisclosed, Estonia has previously been recognised for its high performance in PISA studies and leadership in digital innovation. The press conference will clarify how these and other factors shape the country's human development trends.

The findings will be presented by a team of experts spanning law, geography, technology, and social research. Viewers can follow the discussion in real time via ERR's website. The report aims to provide a detailed snapshot of Estonia's progress in key societal areas.
