Ensign College slashes bachelor's degree time to just three years

Ensign College in Salt Lake City has cut the time needed to earn a bachelor's degree. Students can now graduate in three years instead of four. The change follows a redesign of its degree programmes and credit requirements.

The college, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has updated its Bachelor of Applied Science degrees. All programmes now offer a faster route to completion. Instead of the usual four-year structure, students can finish in three by taking more focused courses.

The new system introduces 90- and 96-credit bachelor's degrees. This reduces the total credits required compared to traditional 120-credit programmes. The college's single campus in Salt Lake City will implement these changes across all relevant courses.

The shift means students can enter the workforce or further study sooner. Ensign College's updated degrees aim to provide a quicker, more efficient path to graduation. The new structure applies to all Bachelor of Applied Science programmes at the institution.
