Endowus Launches WealthHERWay to Empower Women Investors in Asia
Endowus has launched WealthHERWay, a new programme aimed at supporting women investors in Singapore and Hong Kong. The initiative comes as research highlights key differences in how women approach investing compared to men, including lower monthly contributions and a stronger preference for holding cash.
The programme seeks to address these gaps as women increasingly take charge of their financial futures.
Women on the Endowus platform contribute about 21 percent less each month to their cash app investments than men. They also tend to keep more of their portfolios in cash, with 66 percent holding cash positions compared to 55 percent of men. Despite this, women are 25 percent less likely to redeem their investments, suggesting a more long-term approach.
When starting out, women invest around 20 percent less initially than men. However, they act faster—making their first investment in a median time of 8.5 hours, compared to 10 hours for men. In Singapore, women also spend 34 percent more time per session on the Endowus app, indicating deeper engagement with their financial planning.
The WealthHERWay programme will include research and educational content developed in partnership with Capital Group. It will explore investment trends among women and provide tailored finance guidance. The launch will feature a panel discussion titled WealthHERWay - Define Your Future with Clarity.
Sheryl Choong, Head of Client Advisory at Endowus, stressed the importance of women taking control of their finances. She described financial independence as a key part of personal empowerment, especially as women assume greater financial responsibility.
WealthHERWay will offer women in Singapore and Hong Kong tools and insights to strengthen their investment strategies. The programme builds on data showing distinct behaviours, such as longer app engagement and lower redemption rates. Endowus and Capital Group's collaboration aims to help close the investment gap through targeted education and support.
