Emily Maynard's growing family reflects love, loss and new beginnings
Emily Maynard's family has expanded significantly over the years, marked by both joy and challenges. From her early days as a single mother to her marriage and subsequent children, her journey reflects resilience and love. Recent milestones include her daughter Ricki becoming a mother herself in 2026.
Emily first became a mother to daughter Ricki in 2005, just months after the death of her fiancé, Ricky Hendrick, in a plane crash. She discovered the pregnancy days after the tragedy, welcoming Ricki as a single parent.
Years later, Emily married Tyler Johnson in June 2014. The couple soon expanded their family, starting with son Jennings in July 2015. Gibson followed in September 2016, his name chosen in honour of Emily's middle name.
Their third child, Gatlin, arrived in November 2017. During her fifth pregnancy in 2020, Emily faced health struggles after being diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. Despite this, she gave birth to daughter Nola Belle in October that year.
In November 2022, Emily and Tyler welcomed their youngest, Jones, who was born with Down Syndrome and a colon abnormality. At just seven months old, he underwent an ostomy reversal procedure. Meanwhile, Ricki announced her own pregnancy in August 2025 and gave birth to her first child in January 2026.
Emily's family now includes six children, each with their own unique story. From early loss to medical challenges and new beginnings, her household continues to evolve. Ricki's recent transition into motherhood adds another chapter to their close-knit journey.
