Education gaming platform EDURINO secures €17 million in Series B funding, paving the way for broadened development and global expansion.
Edurino, a Munich-based EdTech startup, has successfully raised €17 million in its Series B funding round, marking a significant step towards its ambitious expansion plans. The company, which combines playful learning content with digital innovation, aims to become Europe's leading platform for educational gaming for children aged 4 to 8.
The Series B round was led by Ravensburger Next Ventures, the venture arm of Ravensburger AG, with additional investment from Summiteer, the investment company of serial entrepreneur Sven Schulz. This strategic partnership brings experienced guidance and deep market understanding to support the expansion of the Edurino platform.
Edurino's products cover a wide range of classic school competencies such as reading, logical thinking, coding, and environmental knowledge. The company's platform includes learning games, ergonomic input tools, and animated characters, providing a multisensory learning environment. Edurino's products are already available at retail partners like MediaMarkt, Saturn, Müller, and Smyths Toys, and are used in over 1,500 educational institutions.
In line with its expansion plans, Edurino aims to double its retail presence across Europe by 2025, increasing its physical availability and visibility in stores. The company also plans to expand its hybrid educational platform internationally, starting with a rollout in the UK and subsequent entry into other countries.
To enhance its digital ecosystem, Edurino is developing new interactive content formats, expanding learning content, and adding new product categories. The goal is to create a new category that excites families and makes learning an emotional experience. Edurino is also collaborating with the University of Cambridge to scientifically study and optimize learning effects.
Edurino's team consists of over 40 educators, game designers, psychologists, and scientists, ensuring a pedagogically sound approach to its products. The funds from the Series B round will be used for platform growth, international scaling, and expansion of retail partnerships.
The strategic moves by Edurino are designed to establish the company as a leader in the educational gaming sector. Edurino has already sold over one million products and has received multiple awards, including the Pedagogical Media Prize, the TOMMI Children's Software Award, the Digital Startup Prize of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, and the Founder Prize 2025 of the Startup Association.
In recognition of their achievements, Edurino's founders, Irene Klemm and Franziska Meyer, have been named "Founders of the Year 2025" by the startup association. With its recent funding round and strategic partnerships, Edurino is well-positioned to make a significant impact on early childhood education in Europe and beyond.
