Disney's Stage Connect Brings Musical Magic to Chicago Schools
Disney Musicals in Schools has launched a new initiative, Stage Connect, to bring the magic of musical theater to students across the nation. Three Chicago schools, Alex Haley Academy, Funston Elementary, and Grover Cleveland Elementary, have been chosen as the first participants in this innovative program.
Stage Connect offers free teacher training, show kits, and performance rights, enabling schools to stage popular Disney musicals such as 'The Lion King', 'Frozen', and 'Aladdin'. The program aims to make musical theater more accessible to students nationwide, fostering creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
The selected Chicago schools will receive comprehensive support from Disney Musicals in Schools. This includes guidance on how to mount a full-scale musical production, along with all the necessary materials. The program's goal is to inspire a love for musical theater in young students and provide them with a unique learning experience.
Stage Connect's inaugural cohort includes Alex Haley Academy, Funston Elementary, and Grover Cleveland Elementary in Chicago. These schools will benefit from free teacher training, show kits, and performance rights, allowing them to produce Disney musicals.
