The Schwerter Academy Dialogue, a free event series hosted by the Schwerter Academies Network, is set to return on August 26, 2025, at the Schwerte Town Hall. This occasion promises an enlightening evening focused on the topic of "Care for Each Other - On the Culture of Caring."

The event commences at 5:30 PM with a champagne reception in the council chamber of the Schwerte Town Hall. The primary purpose of the Schwerter Academy Dialogue event series is to inform about diverse educational offerings in Schwerte, and this event is no exception.

The evening's focus is a lecture by Prof. Dr. Inigo Bocken, Professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Nijmegen (Netherlands). His talk, titled "The Rebellious Gaze of Mindfulness - On the Spirituality of Caring for Each Other," will delve into the societal significance of caring.

Prof. Bocken is expected to address how care shapes human relationships, community well-being, and social cohesion. He may also explore theoretical and practical aspects of fostering a culture of caring, though the specific details of his talk will centre on care as a foundational social value.

The Schwerter Academy Dialogue event series aims to bring people into conversation with one another, and following the lecture, there will be time for conversation and discussion with the audience. The series also provides an opportunity for dialogue and conversation, offering a platform for engaging discussions on various topics.

The Schwerter Academies Network consists of four institutions: Evangelical Academy Villigst, Catholic Academy Schwerte, Ruhr Academy Schwerte, and International Music Academy Ruhr. This network, which does not charge for admission to the Schwerter Academy Dialogue event, is hosting the second Schwerter Academy Dialogue on August 26, 2025.

Musical contributions on the theme will conclude the evening, marking a fitting end to a thought-provoking event that encourages us to reflect on the importance and nature of care within society, emphasising a culture of mutual support and responsibility. The event is open to all interested parties, making it an event not to be missed.
