Dhaka’s Ashar Alo School to Transform Education for Disabled Children
The government is establishing a new educational facility in Dhaka, named Ashar Alo School Dhaka, to support children with disabilities. This facility will provide both education and specialized therapies. Officials say it will help address gaps in services for disabled students in the capital.
The Ministry of Social Welfare is leading the project, with technical assistance from the Bangladesh Navy. Construction and operations are planned from July 2025 to December 2027, with a budget of Tk 49.56 crore. The school will serve 300 students, with 30% receiving free education.
Ashar Alo School Dhaka will combine education with essential therapies under one roof, aiming to reduce barriers for disabled children in accessing learning and support. Once complete, it will operate as a key resource for families in the capital.
