Determined Decision in Detmold
In a show of support for children's rights and family services, the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia has approved further funding of 15,000 euros for Detmold from the "kinderstark" programme. This funding will contribute to a series of projects aimed at making the topic of children's rights more visible in the city.
One of the key initiatives is the "Kinderstark" programme, which has received support from the funding programme in recent years. The programme includes educational and recreational initiatives for children, as well as strengthening family support services. Notable contributors to this programme include Eva-Britt Helmerich, who pledged an additional 15,000 euros to Detmold for the programme.
Minister Josefine Paul, the Minister for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Flight and Integration in North Rhine-Westphalia, has also approved this additional funding. She visited Detmold and was shown the different locations in the city that support the lives of children and families with tailored offers.
The city administration of Detmold has a multiprofessional, interdisciplinary team in Fachbereich 2 (Youth, School, Sports) that focuses on the well-being of children and families. The Familien-Info-Treff (F.I.T) in Detmold serves as a one-stop agency for all family-related concerns, while the PUB.I.T is a new contact point for questions and issues concerning young people.
The "our city portal" in Detmold has been a significant factor in the success and acceptance of the innovative offers for children, young people, and families in the city. Recognised as a service-oriented, open partner to citizens, the portal is proactive in bringing relevant information to the people and understands its task as a modern communication administration.
One of the projects that will benefit from the funding is the implementation of participatory graffiti projects for children and young people from various social backgrounds in the city. The "Garagenhof" in the former British quarter in Detmold offers open children and youth work oriented towards a diverse target group.
Detmold's city portal has built up a sustainable approach to municipal prevention chains with the support of state funding. This approach offers a wide range of offers tailored to everyday life, with the goal of ensuring a good and healthy upbringing for all children and young people in North Rhine-Westphalia, a central concern of the state government. Minister Josefine Paul reiterated this commitment during her visit to Detmold.
