Davao City hosts 4th OFW Children’s Congress to tackle bullying and online risks

The 4th Children of OFW Congress is set to take place in Davao City on November 8, 2025. Organized by Maria Lourdes Sereno, the coordinator of the OFW Families' Welfare and Crisis Center, the main event aims to protect and empower children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in the city. The event will address pressing issues such as discrimination, bullying, and vulnerability to online sexual assault. The eventbrite of the event will feature 30 OFW children representing their respective districts. It will also include socio-cultural activities like a short video competition and art workshops. OFW parents are advised to monitor their children's internet activity and encourage them to voice out their problems. The event will provide a platform for these children to express their concerns and learn about their rights. The event will also feature scholarship programs by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), offering opportunities for these children to further their education.
