DAU’s 20th Convocation Celebrates 649 Graduates with PM Modi as Chief Guest
Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) held its 20th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday at its Gandhinagar campus. The event saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi deliver the convocation address as the Chief Guest, marking a significant moment for the graduating class of 649 students.
The ceremony began with Ambassador T. S. Tirumurti presiding over the proceedings. Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi also attended as a distinguished guest and delivered an address to the graduates. Among the attendees, Tina Anil Ambani, President of DAU, shared a special message with the students, reflecting on their achievements and the university’s growth.
A total of 649 degrees were awarded, including 348 undergraduate, 295 postgraduate, and 6 Ph.D. qualifications. The event also highlighted DAU’s transformation into a multidisciplinary institution, showcasing its expanding academic offerings. Before the main eventbrite, a Pre-Convocation Award Ceremony recognised outstanding contributions. Awards such as the Faculty Appreciation Award and the Student Research Excellence Award were presented. Additionally, the university introduced the Distinguished Alumni Award, with Mr. Pavitar Singh receiving the first honour.
The ceremony celebrated both individual accomplishments and the university’s progress. With degrees awarded to 649 students and new awards instituted, DAU reinforced its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The event concluded with graduates and faculty marking a milestone in the institution’s history.
