Dallas Stars Honor Black Heritage with Special Night of Hockey and Culture

The Dallas Stars will celebrate Black History Night on February 4 when they face the St. Louis Blues. The event will feature a custom logo, live performances, and fundraising efforts for local youth initiatives.

Fans arriving early will receive a special commemorative poster, while a pre-game plaza party will offer music and entertainment before puck drop.

The evening's logo was designed by Bambata of YK1K Young Kings, a Texas-based clothing brand. Inspired by Mud Cloth (Bogolanfini), a traditional African textile, the design reflects cultural heritage and empowerment. YK1K's mission centres on encouraging individuals to embrace confidence and leadership.

Before the game, Party on PNC Plaza will take place outside the arena. The event includes live music and appearances by the Dallas Stars Street Squad. Inside, WT Greer will perform the national anthem, adding to the night's celebrations.

The Dallas Stars Foundation will also host fundraising activities. An autographed jersey auction and mystery puck sales will raise money for Young Leaders Strong City (YLSC), a nonprofit supporting student development and community engagement. Additionally, merchandise featuring the Black History Night logo will be sold at Hangar locations and online, with proceeds supporting YLSC's programmes.

YLSC focuses on educating and empowering young people to drive positive change in their communities. The organisation's work aligns with the event's themes of leadership and cultural pride.

Black History Night will combine hockey, art, and community support. The Dallas Stars' partnership with YK1K and YLSC highlights local talent and youth development. Fans can participate through early arrivals, merchandise purchases, and auction bids, all contributing to the event's charitable goals.
