CVS now sells CBD creams for pain and stress in 1,500 stores

CVS has started selling CBD-infused products in over 1,500 stores across eight states. The pharmacy chain is offering hemp-derived creams and sprays, including Elevate-branded pain relief cream. These products target issues like chronic pain, arthritis, and stress without containing psychoactive components.

The Elevate CBD cream is priced at $39.99 for a four-ounce jar. It is marketed to help with sore muscles, joint health, anxiety, and sleep problems. CVS has made it clear that it will not stock CBD supplements or food additives, sticking to topical treatments instead.

CVS is working only with manufacturers that follow legal requirements and meet strict quality standards. The company's move follows a growing trend among health and beauty retailers offering non-psychoactive CBD options. Curaleaf, a cannabis producer, also confirmed that some of its CBD products will appear in 800 CVS locations. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has previously cautioned against unproven health claims about CBD. Despite this, demand for alternative care products containing CBD continues to rise among consumers.

CVS's decision expands access to CBD-based treatments in seven states, with a focus on pain relief and wellness. The products remain limited to topical forms, avoiding supplements and edibles. This step reflects the wider shift towards CBD as a mainstream option for managing common health concerns.
