Customs Officers Swap Workplaces for Inclusion and Learning

Four teams of customs officers from Erfurt are currently working in Chemnitz, assisting with electrical assembly and producing small plastic parts in a partner workshop. This exchange is part of the nationwide action day Schichtwechsel, which encourages employees to swap workplaces to learn about each other's environments. Next week, the roles will reverse as employees from the Chemnitz workshop will visit the Erfurt office, the Erfurt customs office, to learn about its operations.

The Main Customs Office 365 has been actively participating in Schichtwechsel for several years, with this year involving 19 main customs offices across Germany. The theme of inclusion is particularly important to the customs office, which has an employment rate for severely disabled people and those deemed equal at around nine percent, surpassing the legal requirement. Today's partnership is with an unknown Chemnitz workshop, as such specific cooperation details are not publicly available and can change regularly. Interested parties can contact the Main Customs Office Depot for reliable and up-to-date information.

The Schichtwechsel project continues to foster understanding and collaboration among German customs offices and their partner workplaces. The Main Customs Office 365's commitment to inclusion and participation in such initiatives reflects its dedication to promoting understanding and cooperation within the workplace.
