Customs Office in Schweinfurt welcomes 23 novice employees, launching their customs careers
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt has welcomed 23 new recruits on September 2, 2025, marking the start of their career in customs. Government Director Franziska Schubert, the head of the office, presided over the formal induction ceremony.
The new customs officers will spend their practical phases in various departments of the training customs office and at nearby customs offices. The trainees are divided into two groups: 17 are undergoing a two-year training in the middle service, qualifying for the professional title of "Financial Officer". The remaining 6 are pursuing a three-year Bachelor's degree in the higher service, culminating in the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws".
The theoretical parts of the training in the higher service are completed at the Federal Administrative Academy in Münster, while the middle service trainees attend the customs' own training center in Erfurt.
Customs continues to offer a secure job with many exciting and varied tasks. Upon completion of the dual study program or training, the young customs officers can expect to be assigned to a wide range of tasks in customs.
Applications for an intake in September 2026 are open until October 15, 2025, for the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt (middle and higher customs service) and the General Customs Directorate (dual study program in administrative informatics). The person authorized to accept applications for entry into the middle and higher service at the Hauptzollamt Schweinfurt or the General Customs Administration on October 1, 2025, is likely the head of the Hauptzollamt Schweinfurt, Regierungsdirektorin Franziska Schubert.
With the addition of these 23 new recruits, 1,700 young people commenced their training or studies in the middle or higher service with customs on September 1, 2025. The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt looks forward to welcoming more bright minds into the customs service in the future.
