The Düsseldorf regional government has acknowledged that the case of the ill headmaster in North Rhine-Westphalia is complex. The headmaster, who has been unwell for five years, is officially the principal of two high schools in the Lower Rhine region, but he has not been seen at either school.

Recent data indicates that approximately 9,800 teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia have been absent for a month or longer, corresponding to around three percent of the employed teachers in the school system. In this case, the absence of the headmaster corresponds to approximately five percent of the civil servants in the region.

To support his recovery, the headmaster was appointed as headmaster to a high school in Wesel, closer to his residence. However, this was a temporary solution, but he has not yet been able to take up the position in Wesel. In the meantime, acting principals have taken over duties at both schools.

Despite the headmaster's absence, both schools involved have ensured operational capability. Extra teaching positions have been allocated to both schools to relieve principals and secure teaching coverage. It is worth noting that there have been no lapses in school supervision.

It is important to clarify that this case is not comparable to that of a teacher at the Wesel vocational college who has been ill for 16 years and recently caused a stir. The authorities have ordered multiple medical examinations to assess the headmaster's condition and determine a suitable long-term solution.

At present, there is no publicly available information about the current representative of the ill principal at the high school in Wesel. The regional government is working diligently to address this matter and maintain the smooth running of the schools.
