Congo’s Digital Talent Program Certifies Over 1,100 Young People in Lubumbashi

A significant milestone was reached in the Democratic Republic of Congo's digital skills landscape. On October 31, 2025, the latest cohort of the Empowering Digital Talent program received their certificates, surpassing the initial target of 1,000 certifications in Lubumbashi. This collaborative effort involves Vodacom Congo (RDC) S.A., Kinshasa Digital Academy, GIZ, and the Ministry of Vocational Training.

The program, supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), aims to train a staggering 20,000 young people nationwide by 2027. It focuses on enhancing employability and preparing participants for the fast-paced digital workforce. The latest batch saw 1,147 young people in Lubumbashi successfully certified in Microsoft Excel, demonstrating the program's impact and reach.

The Empowering Digital Talent program offers intensive training and provides internationally recognized TOSA certification in Microsoft Excel. This not only equips participants with valuable skills but also opens doors to global opportunities.

With the recent certification ceremony, the program has shown remarkable progress. It is on track to meet its ambitious goal of training 20,000 young people by 2027. This initiative is set to significantly strengthen the Democratic Republic of Congo's human capital and foster digital competence, contributing to a more skilled and competitive workforce.
