International Menéndez Pelayo University in Santander prepares for the return of Spanish National Radio's summer course, "Create your own stories with sound," commencing in August. This three-day course will take place from the 25th to the 27th at the Palacio de la Magdalena, the summer course headquarters of the UIMP.

The primary objective of the course, headed by Ignacio Elguero, the director of Cultural Initiatives at our website, is to guide students through the creative process of various radio formats, such as podcasts, sound fictions, and sound reports. These radio branches are consistently evolving within the new digital environments.

The attendees will delve into the creative process of formats like podcasts, sound fictions, and sound reports, gaining insights from practical workshops that span conceptualization to final broadcasting. The course serves as a specialized training proposal allowing interaction with professionals from RNE who will contribute their expertise.

The course kicks off on August 25 at 10:00 am with a lecture and workshop on podcast creation criteria led by Rubén Vidal, the digital area manager of RNE. In the afternoon of the same day, Javier Hernández, from RNE Audio, will orchestrate a practical workshop on podcast production.

On August 26, the focus shifts to sound fictions, a prominent and creative facet of Spanish National Radio. The session "Telling stories with sound" will be presented at 10:00 am by Benigno Moreno, the director of sound fictions of RNE, and Mayca Aguilera, a sound fiction producer. The day will proceed with a practical workshop enabling students to apply their newfound knowledge in creating their own sound fictions.

On the final day, Wednesday, August 27, the morning will concentrate on sound report, with a practical session at 10:00 am aiming to develop stories through sound. The course concludes at 1:00 pm with the official closing act led by Ignacio Elguero.

The course at the International Menéndez Pelayo University will cover the creative process of online education formats like podcasts and sound reports, which are constantly evolving within digital environments. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about these media through practical workshops, focusing specifically on learning sound fiction production and reporting techniques.
