Colorado Springs rolls out free wellness and support for veterans and their families
The Colorado Springs area continues to expand its support for military members and veterans through a variety of programmes. From free yoga sessions to therapeutic horseback riding, local organisations are offering tailored activities. Upcoming events also include a charity gala aimed at raising funds for veterans’ families in need.
Veterans in the region can access free guided tours at the National Museum of World War II Aviation, designed specifically for those who served in the conflict. Regular gatherings, such as DAV Chapter 26 Membership Meetings and VFW Post 101 Auxiliary Meetings, remain open to veterans and their guests, providing a space for connection and support.
For mental and physical well-being, Comeback Yoga offers free in-person and virtual classes exclusively for service members, veterans, and their families. Another option is StableStrides’ Equine-Assisted Mental Health Groups, where veterans work with horses to address trauma, PTSD, depression, or anxiety. On April 18, the Angel Gala will take place at the Hotel Polaris in Colorado Springs. Organised by Elevation Charity Events, the event will donate 25% of its proceeds to Angels of America’s Fallen, a charity supporting children of fallen military and first responders.
These initiatives provide veterans with opportunities for healing, community, and financial support. The Angel Gala and ongoing programmes ensure that both active and former service members have access to resources tailored to their needs. Further details on participation can be found through the respective organisations.
