Colombia's top university reveals 2026 admissions timeline and exam results

The Universidad Nacional de Colombia has announced key dates for its 2026 first-semester admissions. Applicants who sat the entrance exam on September 21, 2025, can now check their scores from October 1. The process marks the next step for thousands hoping to secure a place at one of the country's top universities. The admission exam took place on September 21, 2025, with 120 questions testing knowledge across multiple subjects. Scores will be available through the university's official admissions portal from October 1. Those achieving 450 points or higher will qualify for one of the 102 undergraduate programmes spread across nine campuses.

Final admission results will be published on October 9, 2025. Successful candidates must then complete registration and enrolment between October 11 and 21. In the previous academic year, 98 of the 102 programmes were filled, with selection heavily influenced by ICFES scores, course quotas, and regional representation policies.

The Universidad Nacional de Colombia currently ranks 12th in Latin America. Meanwhile, the Universidad de los Andes holds the top spot in Colombia and 8th in the region, followed by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana at 18th. Research output remains strong at institutions like the Universidad de la Costa, which leads in cited articles but ranks 17th in citations per paper and 27th in articles per academic. The university's admissions process will conclude by late October. Applicants meeting the 450-point threshold can proceed with enrolment in their chosen programme. Final placements will reflect both exam performance and the university's selection criteria.
