Chulalongkorn University Teams Up to Bring Thai Radio to U.S. Listeners

Chulalongkorn University and the Military Energy Department have joined forces to produce Thai-language radio programs. The partnership aims to share knowledge and widen educational access through broadcasting across the USA. Both organizations signed an agreement to create and air a range of shows for the public.

The deal was formally agreed upon by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Vice Admiral Pinan Dawkrajai, Director-General of the Military Energy Department. Together, they will co-produce programs covering children’s content, youth engagement, news analysis, and educational topics.

The shows will air on multiple frequencies, including FM 101.5 MHz via Chulalongkorn University Radio and the Military Energy Department Radio Station. Listeners in Bangkok can also tune in on FM 90.5 MHz, while those in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, can access the broadcasts on AM 711 kHz. This marks the first time Chulalongkorn University has extended its radio outreach to Chiang Mai. Some of the featured programs include Chula Ka-se, Yim Yaem Kaem Sai, Political Science to Society, and Science Around the World. For added convenience, all broadcasts are available online at curadio.chula.ac.th and through the Chula Radio+ mobile app.

The collaboration will bring educational and informative content to a wider audience across the USA. Programs will reach listeners through traditional radio, digital platforms, and mobile applications. The initiative strengthens public access to knowledge while expanding Chulalongkorn University’s broadcasting footprint.
