Chandigarh University Hosts Global Partnership Conclave 2026 with 60+ Delegates

Chandigarh University hosted the second edition of the Global Partnership Conclave 2026 last week. Over 60 delegates from 40 universities across 20 countries gathered to discuss collaboration, innovation, and global education ties. The event featured high-profile speakers, including ambassadors and leading academics from around the world. The conclave centred on key themes: strengthening partnerships, advancing academic mobility, and driving innovation for a smarter future. Among the chief guests were Denis Alipov, Russia's Ambassador to India, and Juan Antonio March Pujol, Spain's Ambassador to India. Pujol stressed the need to balance technological and economic growth with peace, sustainability, and human welfare.

Denis Alipov spoke about the long-standing cultural and educational ties between Russia and India. He noted that more than 30,000 Indian students currently study in Russian universities. Meanwhile, Germany has also expanded its academic links with India, with 507 active university partnerships as of summer 2025—many focused on engineering and natural sciences. Manoj Gupta, Provost Chair Professor at the National University of Singapore, served as the guest of honour. He praised Chandigarh University's potential, suggesting it could break into the global top 25 with sustained effort and the right approach. Other notable attendees included Mihaela Gjorcheva from International Slavic University in North Macedonia and Dr. Julie Ciancio from Westcliff University in the United States. Chandigarh University, a NAAC A+ graded institution, already holds collaborations with over 530 universities in more than 100 countries. It offers 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and holds a QS World Ranking position.

The conclave reinforced Chandigarh University's role in fostering international academic cooperation. Delegates explored ways to expand student exchanges, joint research, and cross-border innovation. The university's growing network and partnerships suggest further global engagement in higher education.
