Cargill Opens 125th School in Vietnam, Celebrating 30 Years and Committing to 150 by 2030
Cargill, a multinational corporation, has inaugurated its 125th Cargill Cares school in Vietnam. The new classroom block at Lang Yang Elementary School in Ia Phi Commune, Gia Lai Province, offers much-needed facilities for children in the mountainous area. The project, worth VNĐ4.5 billion (US$171,000), has been praised by local officials and the school principal for bringing hope and opportunity to the community.
Cargill, which operates seven feed mills, a premix plant, a grain and oilseed warehouse, a product distribution centre, and a swine nucleus farm nationwide, employing over 1,100 people, has shown its commitment to Vietnam's development. The company aims to build 150 Cargill Cares schools across the country by 2030. The new school in Gia Lai marks a significant milestone, celebrating Cargill's 30th anniversary in Vietnam.
The new classroom block includes five classrooms, a kitchen, restrooms, and a teachers' office within a secure compound. Principal Nguyen Trong Cuong expressed gratitude, stating that the new facilities bring hope and opportunity to the children in the community. Cargill's Country Representative, Nguyen Ba Lua, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the company's belief in education for long-term growth and resilience.
Cargill's 125th school in Vietnam reflects the company's dedication to education and community development. The project has been praised by local officials, including Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hoang Trung, who commended Cargill's contributions to Vietnam's agricultural development. The ministry has also recognized Cargill's achievements in livestock and aquafeed production, presenting the company with a Certificate of Merit.
