Careers for which Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens are eligible for a visit visa to Kuwait
In a significant development, the Directorate General of Residency Affairs in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries has expanded the second tourist visa category, making it accessible for residents holding approved professions and financial means. Colonel Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, the Assistant Director of the Electronic Services Department, explained the details of this new policy.
The approved professions for obtaining tourist visas under the second category are extensive, encompassing a wide range of qualified, skilled professionals in various fields. This category targets medium to high professions and includes, but is not limited to, presidents, ministers, council members, secretaries-general, undersecretaries, governors, members of the diplomatic corps, general managers, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, muftis, university faculty, golden residency holders in GCC countries, investors, business owners, company representatives, property owners, advisors, experts, senior roles in tourism and hospitality, financial intermediaries, accountants, auditors, analysts, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, medical technicians, engineers, teachers, IT professionals, pilots, flight attendants, referees, coaches, journalists, media professionals, and specialized roles such as physicists, chemists, astronomers, geologists, statisticians, commercial agents, brokers, liaison officers, marketing officers, consultants, ship captains, architectural draftsmen, and aircraft mechanics.
Applicants do not need to submit salary certificates or bank account details but are advised to apply online with required documents such as a passport copy, personal photo, confirmed air ticket, and hotel reservation. The financial means requirement applies to this category, ensuring that applicants meet the necessary criteria.
Colonel Al-Kandari further clarified that the second tourist visa category is also for GCC residents who hold specific jobs. This category is one of the four categories for tourist visas, offering a diverse range of opportunities for residents within the GCC.
