Camp Henry Winkler opens summer registration for young nature explorers

Camp Henry Winkler, a summer nature camp for children aged 5 to 12, will run in Alexandria, VA, from June 15 to August 7. The program has grown in popularity, with around 100 to 150 children attending each year. Parents are advised to register early as spaces fill up quickly due to high demand.

The camp takes place at the Winkler Botanical Preserve and offers a mix of outdoor and educational activities. Children can expect building challenges, group songs, STEAM-based projects, nature investigations, and hands-on crafts. Organizers stress that all campers take part in every activity, ensuring no child is left out.

Online registration opens on Saturday, February 14 at 10am. Families interested in securing a spot are encouraged to sign up promptly. More details about the camp, including schedules and policies, can be found at novaparks.com/CampWinkler.

Camp Henry Winkler provides a structured yet playful way for children to explore nature and develop new skills. With limited availability and strong interest each year, early registration is key. The program aims to create an inclusive environment where every child can participate fully.
