Burlington Workshop Teaches Nonprofits to Negotiate Grant Applications Like Pros
A new course on pell grant writing is coming to Burlington, Ontario. Community Development Halton will host You CAN Negotiate! Writing Grant Applications like a Negotiator on February 3, 2026, via Zoom. The session aims to help small-to-medium nonprofits improve their funding success.
The workshop will teach participants how to apply negotiation principles to grant writing. Topics include structuring offers, bargaining effectively, and closing deals with funders. These skills are designed to strengthen applications and increase approval chances.
Benjamin Miller, a representative from the Ontario Nonprofit Network, will lead the training. The course specifically targets organisations with limited grant writing and fundraising experience. By focusing on practical techniques, it seeks to level the playing field for smaller groups competing for funding.
Registration is open for the online event, which will run as a live Zoom session. Community Development Halton has organised the programme to support local nonprofits in securing essential resources.
The February 3rd workshop offers a chance for under-resourced nonprofits to refine their grant strategies. Participants will leave with actionable negotiation tactics tailored to fundraising. The session is free to attend but requires advance sign-up through Community Development Halton.
