Brightspeed invests $580,000 in STEM and esports, supporting North Carolina schools and programs
Brightspeed has announced a major investment in youth technology and esports across North Carolina. The internet provider is committing $580,000 to support schools, tournaments, and student programmes. The funding aims to expand opportunities for young people in the state.
Two new Bright Future Tech Labs will open at Triton High School and Orange High School. The company is allocating over $200,000 to equip these spaces with modern technology. Students at both schools will gain access to advanced tools for learning and competition.
Rocky Mount High School’s Gryphon Elite esports team will receive a $10,000 grant. Additionally, Wesleyan University will benefit from $15,000 in scholarships, gear, and travel support for its esports programme.
Brightspeed is also backing major tournaments. A $350,000 sponsorship will fund the Coca Cola All Stars Golden Ticket contest, the Formula STEM Esports Cup, and the Player League Madden NFL tournament. The company has further partnered with Wake Forest’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department to host the four-part Battle in the Forest esports event.
Sabrina Anderson, Brightspeed’s Local Marketing Manager, explained that the investment reflects the company’s dedication to North Carolina’s students. The funding covers schools, competitive events, and resources to help young people develop skills in technology and gaming.
The $580,000 investment will create new tech labs, support esports teams, and fund tournaments. Schools like Triton, Orange, and Rocky Mount High will receive direct resources, while students at Wesleyan University gain scholarships and equipment. The initiative is set to provide long-term benefits for participants across the state.
