Bogorodsk’s Krug Youth Centre redefines opportunities for young creators

A newly renovated youth centre in Bogorodsk has reopened under the name Krug, offering young people a modern space for learning, creativity, and collaboration. The project is part of a wider push by the Nizhny Novgorod Region to expand youth infrastructure and ensure equal opportunities for development across the area.

The centre’s transformation was backed by Gleb Nikitin, the region’s governor, as part of the Region for Youth initiative under Russia’s national Youth and Children project. Funding from the programme allowed the Bogorodsk facility to be redesigned into a multifunctional hub with seven specialised zones. These include a flexible event hall, a media studio, a lecture theatre, a pottery workshop, and dedicated areas for youth organisations and volunteer activities.

The name Krug was chosen to symbolise the continuous cycle of knowledge-sharing, teamwork, and personal growth. Its concept revolves around a seamless process: learning leads to project design, which then turns into real-world initiatives. This approach ensures that young visitors can develop skills, test ideas, and bring them to life in one place. Officials have positioned the centre as a blueprint for future youth spaces in the region. Plans are already underway to open more similar facilities over the next few years, reinforcing the goal of accessible, high-quality infrastructure for all young residents, no matter where they live.

The Krug Youth Center now stands as a key resource for local young people, offering tools for education, creativity, and community engagement. Its opening marks a step in the region’s long-term strategy to build a network of well-equipped youth hubs, with further centres expected to follow in the coming years.
