166,000 Students at Public Universities in Berlin - Berlin Universities Welcome Record 203,000 Students This Winter

Berlin's universities are welcoming a significant number of new students this winter semester. The total student population is projected to reach approximately 203,000, with around 170,000 enrolled in public universities, a rise of about 2,000 from last year.

Among the public universities, Humboldt University (HU) has around 7,860 first-year students, while the Free University (FU) has around 8,350 provisional enrollments. The Technical University (TU) expects around 6,700 students in student loans and master programs. These numbers contribute to the overall increase in student portal enrollment.

Thousands of new students are starting their studies this winter semester, which began on October 1. Lectures at some universities like FU and HU commenced on October 13. The total student population is estimated to be around 203,000, including both public and private universities. This is a significant number, considering there are no major changes expected in the number of students at private universities compared to last year.

The final number of students is estimated to be around 170,000 at public universities, with FU having around 37,000 students, HU around 35,000, and TU around 34,000. The increase in student enrollment reflects the city's commitment to higher education and its appeal to both domestic and international students.
