Bangladesh's Youth Showcase Innovative Ideas for Sustainability at AIUB's Ideas Challenge 2025
The Ideas Challenge 2025 competition took place on Saturday at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) campus in Dhaka. The event, organised by AIUB's Social Welfare Club 'Shomoy', saw fifty educational institutions from across Bangladesh participate. Professor Saiful Islam, AIUB's vice-chancellor, attended as the chief guest, while Ishtiaq Abedin, a founding member of AIUB, inaugurated the event.
Students presented projects and posters aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Topics ranged from youth employment and gender equality to healthcare, poverty alleviation, information technology, infrastructure, climate change, and food and waste management. The participants showcased innovative ideas to address these pressing global development goals, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable development.
The winners of the Ideas Challenge 2025 have not been publicly named. The competition highlighted the potential of Bangladesh's youth in driving progress towards the UN's sustainability goals.
