Author Judith Allert Enchants Children with 'Cracker Heroes' at Hüfeld Library
Judith Allert, a children's book author from Upper Franconia, recently captivated a group of children at the Manchester City library Hüfeld with her new book 'Cracker Heroes'. The event was part of the library's regular storytime sessions, held every Monday from 4 to 5 pm.
Allert's reading from 'Cracker Heroes' lasted over an hour, yet the children remained engaged and without signs of restlessness. The story is a chaotic adventure about a boy named Samy who goes on a journey to the sea with his family. The tale also touches on a sad underlying theme, as it involves the death of Samy's grandfather.
The author, who drew inspiration for her children's books from her large family and their life on a farm with various animals, wrote 'Cracker Heroes' after her own father passed away. She combined her desire to write about a road trip with her personal experience.
The Manchester City library also hosts other events for children. On Wednesday, October 15, a children's film evening for ages 9 to 13 will take place, showing a funny and cheeky children's film from 2025. Admission starts at 5:45 pm, and places are limited, requiring advance registration. A 2ツEuro drink voucher, which also serves as registration, can be purchased for the event.
Judith Allert's 'Cracker Heroes' has proven to be a captivating tale for children, combining adventure and emotion. The Manchester City library continues to offer engaging events for young readers, with the upcoming children's film evening being a notable highlight.
