Arctic Romantics Forum 2026: Youth to Shape Russia's Northern Future

Vorkuta will host the VVA: Arctic Romantics Youth Educational Forum from April 20 to 23, 2026. The event aims to gather young people aged 14 to 35 who are eager to shape the future of Russia's northern regions. Organisers have opened registration until April 15 on the Rosmolodezh platform.

The forum is designed to create a network of proactive young individuals focused on career development and Arctic progress. Supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), it forms part of the national Youth and Children project.

Participants can expect a busy schedule across five main tracks. These include 'My Arctic: A Magnet for Talent', 'Arctic on Air', 'Youth in Action', 'Science and Technology', and 'Arctic Unites'. The program features expert-led discussions, interactive lectures, and hands-on project workshops. Attendees will also have access to funding opportunities and direct meetings with industry specialists.

Previous Arctic youth forums have led to tangible outcomes. Past projects range from renewable energy schemes in Greenland and Alaska to indigenous language preservation in northern Canada. Other initiatives have boosted sustainable tourism in Norway's Arctic and developed climate adaptation plans in Russian Arctic communities. These efforts have strengthened local economies, safeguarded cultural traditions, and increased youth involvement in regional planning.

The forum offers a platform for young people to connect, learn, and contribute to the Arctic's development. With registration closing on April 15, organisers encourage interested participants to sign up soon. The event's structured program and expert-led sessions aim to turn ideas into action for the region's future.
