Quick Chats, Big Opportunities – Apprenticeship Speed Dating, the Fast Track to Training and Career
Apprenticeship Speed Dating brings quick career matches to Wiesbaden this spring
Who says major decisions always have to take forever? At Apprenticeship Speed Dating, sometimes all it takes is one conversation, a glance, an honest "Is this a fit?"—and suddenly, the future kicks into gear. This year in Wiesbaden and, for the first time, in the Rheingau region.
Two Locations, One Goal: Finding the Future
This year, Apprenticeship Speed Dating is pulling out all the stops in two places. On April 28, the Wiesbaden Slaughterhouse (Schlachthof) transforms into a kind of career lab: Around 40 companies set up their tables, flip hourglasses, and dive into conversation. Fast, direct, no detours.
Two weeks later, on May 11, the event sets sail—literally. A ship becomes a floating job fair as the RheinStar cruises the Rhine. Outside, the river stretches into the distance, while inside, discussions turn to apprenticeships, future plans, and first career steps. It sounds like the perfect blend of wanderlust and professional beginnings.
Talk First, Résumé Later
Here, it's not about the perfect application folder—it's about the first impression. Students and companies get ten minutes to size each other up. Often, that's enough to tell: This could work. Or maybe not—which is just as valuable to know.
Over 60 apprenticeship trades and around 15 dual study programs are on offer. Whether in office work, healthcare, logistics, or tech, the range is like a well-stocked toolbox for shaping your own future. The Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) organizes the event, bringing together what belongs together: curiosity and opportunity.
Relaxed, But Not Random
The atmosphere stays laid-back, almost casual. And that's the charm. No stiff small talk, no application marathon. Just real conversations. Sure, coming prepared helps—but often, simply having the courage to show up is half the battle.
And yes, it happens: by the end of the day, some walk away with more than just a good impression—a work placement, an apprenticeship contract, maybe even their first real step into working life.
