America's Startup Offers $25K Grants to Turn Student Business Ideas Into Reality
A new national competition is calling on US college students to turn their business ideas into reality. America's Startup, launched by America250, offers funding, mentorship, and exposure to the next wave of innovators. The initiative aims to boost the US economy by supporting young entrepreneurs across the country.
The competition is open to undergraduate students who are legal residents of the US or its territories. Eligible participants can submit early-stage ideas from any industry, either as individuals or in small teams. To enter, they must provide a written proposal and a two-minute pitch video via the official website by 31 March 2026.
Ten winning teams will each receive $25,000 in non-dilutive grant funding. This means founders keep full ownership of their businesses while gaining financial support. Beyond cash prizes, winners will also access mentorship, educational programmes, and potential spots in accelerators or incubators.
America's Startup highlights the tradition of US innovation, pointing to giants like Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon—all of which began as small-scale ventures. The competition seeks to replicate that success by giving students national recognition and visibility among investors and industry leaders.
The initiative provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to develop their ideas without giving up equity. Winners will gain funding, guidance, and connections to help their small business ideas grow. Applications remain open until the end of March 2026.
