All-Russian Long-Distance Shooting Tourney Honors Legendary Sniper Okhlopkov in Yakutsk
The third All-Russian tournament in long-distance shooting, dedicated to Fedot Matveyevich Okhlopkov, has opened in Yakutsk. This event is organised by multiple entities, including the apparatus of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Shooting Federation. Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, is overseeing the tournament.
Over 120 participants, including those from the special military operation, have arrived for the competition. The championship is held in 'day' and 'night' modes, with competitions between sniper pairs. Winners and prize-winners will receive special and cash prizes. The tournament coincides with the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, noted the importance of marksmanship in Yakut culture and its role in instilling patriotism. The event is taking place at the 'Sualus' training shooting center, one of the best in the country. Trutnev welcomed participants, expressing gratitude to those from the special military operation zone.
