Alexandria Nonprofit Hosts Computer Donation Drive for Digital Inclusion

A local non-profit is hosting a donation drive to collect used computers and accessories. Computer CORE will accept items on Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Fairlington Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA. The group plans to refurbish the equipment for adults in need across the city. Computer CORE has served the Alexandria community since its founding in 1999. The 501(c)3 organisation offers free online computer skills training and provides refurbished devices to residents aged 18 and older.

At the upcoming drive, volunteers will collect used desktop and laptop computers. They will also take power cords, mice, keyboards, and monitors. All functional items will be repaired and redistributed to those facing digital access barriers. The event runs for four hours at the church’s location. Donors can drop off equipment without an appointment. The organisation stresses that every contribution helps bridge the technology gap for local adults.

The donated devices will support Computer CORE’s mission of digital inclusion. Refurbished computers and accessories will go directly to Alexandrians who lack reliable technology. The drive aims to expand access to both hardware and the organisation’s free skills courses.
