Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT) and FACT Plus: Your Chance to Shine in Forensic Science
Great news, forensic science enthusiasts! The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is once again organizing the All-India Test for forensic science graduates and professionals in 2024. Let's dive into the details.

FACT 2024 Introduction: FACT and FACT Plus are tests designed to assess the overall aptitude and skills of Postgraduate students in Forensic Science. The FACT qualification is a screening test, indicating a minimal degree of expertise in forensic science, while FACT Plus assesses candidates' ability to handle precision instruments and infer precise results.

The Exam: The test will be conducted online, and the date of online application is from 1st April to 21st April 2024. The issue of e-Admit Cards will be from 1st May 2024, and the date of the examination is 12 May 2024 between 10:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. The duration of the paper is 2 hours. Results will be declared on 30 May 2024.
Test Format: The FACT 2024 test consists of objective type questions divided into two sections, A and B. Section A tests candidates' aptitude in Forensic Science, while Section B comprises of five specialized forensic science subjects (Forensic Ballistics and Physical Sciences, Forensics Document Examination, Forensic Chemical Sciences, Digital Forensics, and Forensic Psychology). Candidates must attempt one of these specialized subjects. There is no negative marking, and the marking scheme will be included in the online test instructions.
Eligibility: To appear in FACT or FACT Plus, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Indian citizens
- Educational Qualifications: Degree in Forensic Science or pursuing final semester examination
- Age Limit: No upper age limit
- Attempt Limit: Unlimited
Additional Requirements for FACT Plus: Along with meeting FACT eligibility criteria, candidates must also qualify in UGC NET, CSIR-GATE, GPAT, or have relevant experience in analytical methods and research.
Qualification: Certificates will only be issued upon meeting current academic year eligibility criteria for those who passed their final semester examinations after the FACT or FACT Plus examination.
